Paper lab

What makes a paper burn right

Rolling paper is a technical product. Grammage, porosity, fibre and gum decide how it rolls, how it burns and how it ashes. These are the numbers we work to.

Fibre, weight, air

Three variables decide most of what a smoker notices. We publish them for every line so a buyer can compare instead of guess.

Fibres we run

  • Bleached wood pulp14–18.5 g/m²

White, neutral, the most forgiving on fast lines. Standard and thin grades.

  • Unbleached wood pulp12.5–14 g/m²

Brown, chlorine-free, visible fibre. Sells on look as much as burn.

  • Rice fibre13–13.5 g/m²

Very slow, very little ash. The quietest paper in the range.

  • Hemp fibre13–14 g/m²

    Textured, steady, naturally unbleached.

  • Ultra thin blends10–12 g/m²

Flax and wood pulp blends at the limit of what a booklet line can fold.

Porosity

CORESTA units (CU)

Air permeability sets burn rate. Each reel arrives with a porosity certificate and is checked again before slitting.

Gum line

5–7 mm · 8–10 g/m²

Natural acacia gum, vegan, applied as a narrow dry strip. Adhesion is tested per lot.

Watermark

Optional

Brand or pattern watermark on request for private-label runs; an authenticity marker that is hard to copy.

Cut tolerance

± 0.5 mm

Leaf length and width are measured per lot; out-of-spec lots are quarantined, not shipped.

Quality parameters

g/m² · CU · N/15 mm · ash %

Grammage, porosity, tensile strength, ash content, burn rate and leaf count are recorded per lot.

  • Chlorine-free
  • Vegan gum
  • Certificate of analysis per lot
  • Burn additive optional
  • Custom colour on request
  • Watermark on request
